TimePlaceGuessr is a free origin-guessing game — no account or download required. Each round you are shown an image of an object, artwork, invention, or cultural artifact and asked: where did this thing come from?
Step-by-Step
- See the Image — You are shown a photo of an object, artwork, invention, food brand, or cultural artifact.
- Guess the Origin — Click the country or region on the interactive map where you believe the item originated.
- Guess the Year — Enter an approximate year or era of the item's creation.
- Score Points — Points are calculated based on how close your location and year guesses are. The closer you are on both dimensions, the higher your score.
- Finish the Session — After all rounds, see your total score and a breakdown of each round's results.

GeoGuessr and TimeGuessr are location games — you look at Street View photos and guess where or when a photo was taken. TimePlaceGuessr asks a completely different question: where did this thing COME FROM? You're identifying origins of objects and artifacts, not your physical location in a scene.

How is scoring calculated?▾
Points are awarded based on how close your guesses are — both geographically (country/region) and chronologically (year of origin). The closer you are on both dimensions, the higher your score per round.
